It hasn’t even been a week since Paulina and Krzyś arrived in Leysin, but they definitely have already got to experience a lot in the last couple of days!
On Thursday, they had their first All School Assembly when they got to know their Faculty Families. Then, on Friday, they participated in the Berneuse Challenge, an annual hike to the peak above Leysin, and had a chance to enjoy lunch with their new friends in an outstanding revolving restaurant on the top of the mountain. In the evening, Paulina and Krzyś met with Ania and Cezary, Cambridge University graduates and organizers of Cambridge cLASs, for their first, quite informal mentoring session, when they discussed their subject and activities choices, shared their early career ideas, and talked about their first impressions of Switzerland and LAS.
The weekend turned out to be quite busy, too! A trip to Montreux on Saturday and some relaxing time by Lake Geneva, and first classes on Sunday afternoon. It’s exciting that it’s only the beginning of their two-year adventure!
This is how Krzyś reflects on his first days at LAS:
What a busy couple of days! I think that aptly describes the very packed schedule here. Everything is, however, amazing and I still can’t believe I’m in Leysin. Fantastic, open-minded people, facilities just waiting to be used to their full potential and a breathtaking view of the Swiss Alps from the window. I’m fueled by excitement and eager to try many new things – LAS beckons!
